How do I become a referee?

Modified on Fri, 26 Sep, 2025 at 9:59 PM

Becoming a match official with OSU is a great opportunity to develop leadership, decision-making, and interpersonal skills while earning extra income and supporting youth soccer. OSU partners with Ontario Soccer to offer annual referee clinics that provide official certification for both small-sided (7v7) and full-field (11v11) matches. To participate, referees must be at least 12 years old by April 1 for the small-sided course and at least 14 years old by April 1 for the entry-level full-field course. For more information, please contact the Club Head Referee at referees@osu.ca.
